The Institute for the Forsaken

The Institute for the Forsaken is accepting art (photos and illustration) and written works in the Horror, Fantasy (with a horrific twist) and Science Fiction (with a horrific twist) genres.

We publish on a quarterly basis – posting new stories atop older ones for a period of one year. The Institute for the Forsaken is a 100% online magazine but are looking into the possibilities of a print anthology yearly.

Strictly fiction, original content only. Please no fan fiction or rip-offs. You are sole responsible for what you provided for review and possible publication. We snag electronic reprint or first writes, remember once we publish your original work, it does become a reprint. For art we are looking for the same electronic rights.

IftF accepts art as an attachment to your email in .gif or .jpg. Written work should be no more than 3,000 words. If we can’t get past the first page do to boredom you will be promptly rejected (no sense in wasting any of the Imps’ time after all).

Response time is up to 60 days. At times, it may be longer due to activities and other demands of the scant crew.

Payment: Your soul, you pay us … we don’t pay you. Kidding of course – we are a paying market @ $0.02 per word. Art is paid at a flat rate of $25.00 per accepted piece. Because we are new at this we will not be accepting gobs of work on the onset. We will grow as you help us grow and so will our content and pay. Payment will be upon publication or sooner if our little imps do their chores.

Payment is via PayPal only – please provide your PayPal addy with your submission as well as standard contact information.

All submission, questions and rants need to go to nicolejackman (at) razorthinstudios (dot) com. No snail mail please – after all Hell has no PO Box. Submission must come as a attachment to your email and include contact information, word count and rights being offered. We do accept simul-subs, just tell us about it.

Reading period is year-around. We will publish on average one story per classroom – check each classroom for the type of literature we are looking for. Art is wide open for the art room – as long as it is horrific based. Please no pansies or cute bunnies.

We are not a join to publish based organization, that said we will be publishing work from our base crew.
